A) Teeth whitening is a cosmetic service and not a dental procedure. Brite White has opened the door to a larger group of consumers for a service that in the past has been limited to the dentist. Many OTC's (over the counter) products have come into the market place, however the Brite White teeth whitening is now available to the salon/spa industry. Providing a cosmetic service is not providing dental treatments. Teeth whitening now fills the gap for a head to toe look. Q) What is the difference between the goose neck lamps and Brite White?

A) This is a question often asked. The difference is the gooseneck lamps are out-of-the-mouth systems, on a pedestal, using cheek retractors, rubber dams, goggles, bibs and a special chair. The light has to be focused for results. Cost per treatment is much higher than Brite White. Brite White is never out of focus and does not use hydrogen peroxide activators which cause sensitivity to both the teeth and gums.

Q) Should I brush my teeth immediately before whitening?

A) It is advisable not to brush just before because it may cause abrasion and sensitivity.

Q) Will bleaching harm my teeth?

A) Research by the journal of the American Dental Association (JADA) has shown that tooth bleaching is a safe process provided one is using a professionally dispensed and tested bleaching gel or paste.

Q) How long will the teeth stay white?

A) There is no way to know for sure how long the results will last. Several factors can determine play a role, if the client drinks lots of tea/coffee or red wine as the darkening process will begin at the very first drop. For this reason 6months to a year is a realistic expectation. Higher for those who avoid food and beverages that stain teeth or do not smoke.

Q) Why do the bottom teeth not whiten as well as the top teeth?

A) Bottom teeth are thicker and take longer. If the top gets white, use the Home Maintenance Kit trays at home only on the bottom until they blend.

Q) What are some of the things we eat and drink that couse discolorations?

A) The worst drink for causing the teeth to discolour is tea. If you do not brush right awayor use a straw the teeth will discolour very quickly. Other drinks and foods include coffee, cola, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, red wines, curry, blue berries, cranberry juice & tomato sauce. Smoking is high on the list for discolouring teeth.

Q) What is the difference in hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide?

A) Carbamide peroxide is, hydrogen peroxide compounded with urea, or called urea peroxide which serves no function in the whitening process. It means the urea has been added to hydrogen peroxide to stabilize the formula, preventing less sensitivity than the HP and also a longer shelf life. HP produces more sensitivity than carbamide, making CP the choice for teeth whitening.

Q) Will HP and CP achieve the same results?

A) Both HP and CP will achieve the same results. Again, keeping in mind that sensitivity will more likely be experienced with the HP rather than CP because of the teeth becoming dehydrated when using HP products. Brite White uses CP to insure less sensitivity and dehydration to the teeth. Q) Will this work on Veneers, Crowns, Bridges or Fillings?

A) The treatment will not whiten veneers, crowns bridges or fillings or change the color, however it can brighten them by removing some of the discolorations caused food, drinks or nicotine.

Q) What about a tooth that is hurting?

A) Do not attempt to whiten teeth that experience any pain. Recommend a dental visit

Q) What about in the middle of a root canal?

A) Do not whiten teeth during any dental treatments, wait until root canal is complete

Q) What about a temporary for a permanent crown?

A) All teeth whitening should wait until dental work is complete.

Q) Will my teeth continue to whiten after the treatment?

A) Yes, because the teeth absorb the activating gel, which is the peroxide so they continue to whiten for up to 3 hours after treatment.

Q) Can teeth whitening services be offered when pregnant?

A) Some of the product will be swallowed during the session. The bleaching gels on the foetus are unknown. Keeping this in mind, whitening is not advised during pregnancy in order to minimize any possible risks to the health of the foetus.

Q) When not to whiten?

A) When in doubt, refer the client to a dentist. We are not practicing dentistry we are providing supervision for self administered teeth whitening. Teeth should not be treated with whitening agents if roots are exposed, during ill health, wearing braces, recent oral surgery, any problems with gums or any suspicious areas that should require dental supervision.

Q) What information do I need to provide when I call to reorder lamps?

A) We need the make and model of the piece of tanning equipment, the original lamp information and current lamp information.

Q) Where do I find the original lamp information?

A) It will be located on the exposure sticker on the tanning unit.

Q) Can I use a different wattage lamp in my tanning equipment?

A) No. The ballast that the manufacturer installs in the unit determines what wattage lamp you must use.

Q) Is there a guarantee on your lamps?

A) Yes, we provide a 60 day guarantee for defective lamps.

Q) What do I do if my lamps arrive damaged?

A) Please call within 3 business days for a full replacement. If your lamps are delivered by a trucking company, damages must be noted on the delivery receipt at time of delivery.

Q) How much does it cost to ship lamps?

A) Shipping is determined by how many lamps purchased and where they are being shipped to. Please call for a quote.

Q) How long will the lamps last?

A) Every lamp manufacturer has an expected lamp life for each different lamp. A lamp specialist will be glad to assist you with your specific inquiries.
